Selection Process and Physical Standards
Selection process includes Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Preliminary exam consists of 100 marks including General Knowledge, Current Affairs and Physics. PET requires running, long jump, high jump and shot put. Running requirement is 1.6 km in 7 minutes for men and 1 km in 7 minutes for women. Minimum height required is 165 cm for General/BC men, 160 cm for EBC/SC/ST men and 155 cm for female candidates. Candidates must be medically fit and free from vision defects and color blindness. Negative marking of 0.2 marks applies for each wrong answer in written exams.
